Yeah!!! I know!!!!
Here is a blogpost documenting my little collection. That ash Fury, which is really a T-20, is an incredible sounding bass. If I had to only pick one....
Also, I ALMOST acquired a Dyna Unity last month, but the seller decided not to part with it after all. Yeah, I was bummed. That's one of the models I've always jones'd for. I need that, a Cirrus, and a T-40 to truly call myself a Peavey collector.

Anybody who owns a TL Five want to weigh in on what those are like? I've got my eyes on this gorgeous blue one on ebay: (hands off please... the GAS is strong with this one...)
That first gen Fury is gorgeous!!!!! Is that the original finish??? Mine is my favorite of all my basses. Even without an amp, it SINGS!!! You can clearly hear it even unplugged. No other bass I've ever owned responds in this fashion.
That is incredible!!! I've not had one, but I've read that the LT evolved into the Cirrus. So I suspect you won't be disappointed. Just get the thing already!!!
I was fortunate enough to pick up this very nice T-20 from the TB classifieds. One of its owners loved their tort pickguards so much they got one made for it. It also came with the original white one in case I wanted it all original. But I liked it enough that I left it the way it came. I think that the tort goes rather well with the natural finish.
Sortly after I got it, it became one of my all-time favorite basses. It just screams "progrock" to my ears.
I've also got a T-40. But no good pictures of it. I'll have to take some later when I get a chance.

Yeah. I got a big kick out of the built-in thumb rest on the pickup.
I seldom use it because I'm more the floating thumb type of player. But I still like the fact it's there.
I want the classic Peavey knobs for my Fury... But I have a hard time justifying spending 50 plus on two knobs.
For me that's almost worth it right there. I have some pretty crazy hitchhiker's thumbs and I gotta rest them somewhere. I don't really love too much else about them, but the cheap Yamaha basses have some fantastic built-in thumbrests. Just wish I could grab them and put them on all of my basses.Yeah. I'd say the progression was more Dyna bass into TL 5 than TL-5 into Cirrus. The TL-5's use same Dynabass preamps and pickups. TL refinements are neat things like the body being arched to fit your belly like the Unity. I'd say the Unity series is the closer match.

Holy crap!! That Copper slanted SF Fury may be one of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen...and being a slanted SF Fury, it has to be a near perfect bass.

I stopped visiting and posting on TB for a variety of reasons, but a few recent Peavey threads have brought me back.
There are some amazing people who seem to own and love (and hoard...Kodiak) Peavey basses.
There are some truly epic basses on display in this thread, and some seemingly very nice folks.
The rest of TB could take a lesson from the way people treat each other in these threads.

Awesome thread! Saw a few of my favorite basses of all time on here. I've often thought about trying to make a black, left-handed T-40 lookalike. I have loved that body style since I was ten years old.
The first gen Fury was an update to the T-20. Bridge is different... Longer scale too IIR. Those Fury's were only made for a couple of years before Peavey made the model into a P type bass, which is probably one of the best non-Fender P's out there btw. My first gen Fury is probably my favorite player. It even beats out the red Dynabass that I also adore.
