Anyone else use these Red Monkey straps? I have two and will soon add another as I really love them! Oddly enough, the monkey ain’t red lol. What are you currently using?

It’s beautiful!

This is the post that gave me GAS
New Bass Coming, Need New Strap!!

It was $55 so kind of expensive but it’s real suede on the back and I like that the money went to a small business. The rest of my straps are all cheap and mass produced. I felt like this bass deserved better :) Shipping was crazy fast!

Jaykco Guitar Straps
Very cool, thank you my friend! I also have a few cheap, mass produced straps! $55 is a great price since the ones I get from Red Monkey are around $140. This new one I have on the way was $119 after a Black Friday discount. It was normally $139. They do carry a lifetime warranty though, so I justify it that way haha. And I only buy them around holidays so I can use codes or money given to me.

Jaykco straps have been a problem for me but I'm recovering. This is maybe a third of the ones I've still got and I've given away at least another 10. You know there might be an issue when you start thinking about tie racks...and then bigger tie racks. Haven't bought one for over 2 years though. One day at a time, right?

They are really nice! If I didn’t just get another Red Monkey on order I would definitely be getting one of these.

beautiful collection. I’m definitely thinking of getting these as gifts for guitarists in my life.

Love Red Monkey. Was just drooling the other day.

I deeply want one of their straps for the P bass you see in the background. I think of their black classic leather straps would look so good

What’s the difference between strap lock holes and not? I use the type of strap locks that pop on over the pegs. I have one set of the rubber fender washers and then plastic clip style ones from d’addario

Very cool I’m sure they will dig that. Yea so the strap lock holes are cut bigger to accommodate strap locks that some guitarists and bassists add on their instruments. You would take the screw out of the normal ones that are on the instrument when you bought it and replace it with the strap locks. One end is screwed into the bass and the other is attached to the strap. It stays on the strap for good and then you hook together so the strap will not disconnect while playing, hence never dropping the bass. Not that you would anyway, but I guess it has happened lol. As soon as I get my new Red Monkey in I’ll send you some pics. It’s pretty bad a$$ looking!

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah… I’m not at that level of strap lock. The cheap gaskets and clips satisfy my need for security.

I did almost drop an instrument when a strap slipped off a few years ago …since upgrading to more expensive basses I am too nervous to trust the strap alone.
