Show me your Yamaha BBs!

Have anyone tried to replace the stock pickups on BB414? I am considering upgrading my bass, but the pickups are nonstandard...

Past BBs:

BB1500A. Loved the 70's jazz vibe with a modern twist. Cool preamp too

BBNE2. Sophisticated sound, great highs.

BBEAST. Ahh...One I should have kept, but the color put me off

Yet another BB1500A. this time with hipshot ultralites (not pictured)

Unknown (possibly BBG4AII) bass. Bought it for fun, gave it away

All black hardware. new pickups, tuners, bridge, wiring, output jack, knobs, finish. I love it.

Finally, my current workhorse, a simple BB414:

I'm loving that 414 in white.

My very first bass was a BB300 which I swapped with a friend of mine for a Westone Thunder 3 25 years ago, I wish I could get it back.

I don't know how those pickups sound, but I love the pickups in my BB3000MA. They should fit in the current routes, and they have Alnico V magnets. Not really cheap, though.

Beginning of a beautiful BB415. Replaced the bridge with an Hipshot A with string through option. WOW what a difference!




Also re-wired with 3 CTS 500k pots vol vol tone with a .47 cap. And the knobs go to 11 \m/ \m/
Guys, I really want to change to pickups to a set of villex. How would I go about replacing these weirdly shaped PJ pickups with traditional shaped ones? I know someone has replaced these pickups before, what did you do?
