The upside down cross is quite offensive.
COOL!
I like offensive.....
Maybe add a carcass of some kind laying on top of your amp with candles surrounding it.
Then embroider a lovely picture of Beelzebub with human hair....
Then the ultimate evil......some hello kitty stickers on your Jazz bass.

By the way, those blue flip-flops just scream EVIL!!!
Isn't that the chosen footwear of Satan?

Peavey 410TX for $25 (I soldered a wire to make it work) and a GK 800RB for $100 (the seller thought there was a problem with it but it works great for me). I sold the cab and now have an Ampeg PR hlf 410 that's awesome. Got it for $275. Picked up an Ampeg SVT 3 pro fpr $265. Got a Highway One Jazz, mint, for $250.
So a great rig for a total of $590 including a decent bass (after selling that Peavey cab for $200).

I can't believe these prices :)
Are they really in US $ ?
Where do you live? On the moon? (kiddin')

Gettin' back to MichiBass...
I saw this thread and thought I'd post again. Interesting that I caught your comments on my original post!
Yes, really in the US. I live in San Francisco Bay Area. Got all this stuff on Craigslist for my son (and a lot more). I don't play, I'm my son's techie, roadie, and wallet (he's sixteen). He's now a TBer and I'll be interested in what he gets out of this great community.

Anyway, the latest that I've put together, or, more appropriately, am in the process of putting together:
ADA Bassline 115 cab for $20 but with blown driver. I picked up an EV L15 for $60 and it sounds great!
Eden 210 with blown drivers. The seller sent me back my money when I told them they were blown "..and, please, just keep the cab". I still have to ship the drivers for a recone. Looks like that will cost about $140 for the pair. Shipping will add to that of course.
So, with the GK head at $100 powering this rig, I think I'll be looking at very portable, great sounding rig for about, what, $320?
Love the other deals I'm seeing here.

the hello kitty stickers come next, just you wait

To me, none of these are cheap. Here's my current (soon to be upgraded) cheap rig of doom:
Squier SP10 10-Watts Practice Amp:- £1 (Speaker was busted, owner thought it worthless!)
Skytec "Disco box" 2x12, Horn Mid, Bullet Tweeters:- £65 (Second hand!)

Rip the amp of the SP10 out the combo, wire the pos/neg to a jack lead and plug her up! Sounds pretty good, considering...

My son started bass at age 10 and is now in his third year of music school. (pedro offers BandDad the secret handshake). Trust me on this one - you're on the ride of a life time!

How about "vintage doom"?

The '77 Bassman 50 head was given to me by a friend in non-working condition. I'd learned how to rehab Bassman heads, so was able to get it running for the cost of parts. It got new tubes, capacitors, tube sockets, a grounded power cord and a few resistors (less than $80 total).

The '70-something Kustom cab was $69 from a guy on Craigslist. It came with vintage Jensen speakers which weren't that good for bass. Traded them to an amp collector for a new pair of Eminence Beta 12 speakers. He was cool enough to provide me with the period-correct Kustom logo for the cab that he had lying around his shop (it's not on the cab in this photo).

Nice rig of vintage doom for around $150 total!

Swr 8x8 50$ delivered.

8 8" replacement speakers, 30$ each. = 240$

shipping included I'd say I have 350$ into the cab.

Sold fretless stingray to pay for Ampeg B2RE (500$)

not sure if that qualifies as doom, but if we count the head as a wash then I think I've managed cheap.

I can move the 100 lb. cab myself, anything bigger would be doom for my back.

btw...never has the volume knob made it past 9 oclock.
