I guess I should start a thread on this for voting but am curious how many folks keep their Bass Mint in the basement to enable loud playing without disturbing the neighbors.
My main area is upstairs in my home office but have a secondary (cheaper) amp in the basment for loud jamming.
The problem with the basement is it reverbs throughout the entire house. Does not bother neighbors but does annoy everyone else in the house.

My whole band practices in the basement... Neighbors know nothing! My wife and kids have yet to complain.

Same here, basement practice, and my basement is fully finished and soundproofed. Plus, my wife is in my band, so there's NEVER an issue!!

I'm closing on my house the 29th. My rumble room will be started shortly after. Pics to follow.
The lumber is 1x4 oak, anchored to the wall with 3" sheet rock screws.
Cool! That looks like a far more cost-effective means than buying a bunch of hangers from GC!
I am in the process of reclaiming my music/recording/rehearsal room/man cave. I might just use this little tip!
When I am done, it will have a large-screen TV with surround-sound (for concert videos, of course), two La-Z-Boys (Check), some bar stools, and a wet bar with a keg-o-rator!
I like this idea and have considered it. But wow, it you don't get the screw into the stud there will be tears for sure.

... I like the fact that the instrument gets locked in.
For gigs, I use Hercules stands religiously. Worth their weight in gold and love the fact that my double stand folds up smaller than any single guitar stand I have ever owned!
Got one of these wall hangers too (in my daughter's room that USED to be my music room/office) but since I do not live in "Earthquake Country" and do not leave my guitars out, there really is no need for me to make such a costly investment to have about 20 (or so) hanging all over my room!
BTW, you really do not have to worry about studs if you use the correct (and correctly installed) drywall anchors.
When I am done, I want my room to closely resemble the acoustic guitar room at your local Guitar Center!

I tried to fit in as many as possible but the basses are started to expand to other parts of the house (much to my wife's chagrin).
Man, I think A perhaps the A&E Channel ought to do a musician's version of their "Hoarders" show!
If anything, someone really ought to "Spoof" it and put it on Youtube!

This is all you see in my house. I don't want anyone to have a reason to come into my house uninvited. Everything is hidden.
Hmmm.....for a second there I thought this was my music room! Seriously!
I have closets just like this on either side of the main wall and I have oak floors too!
One of my closets I have set up with a heavy duty shelf that holds most of my guitars/basses in their gig bags/cases on top and I roll my two speaker cabinets along with a practice amp on the bottom. I then fill the remaining space with my heads, accessory bags, mike stands, guitar stands, Etc.
The other closet opened up to what used to be a computer desk but this now holds all of my guitar amps, pedal board, and boxes and boxes of miscellaneous guitar parts I probably ought to sell on Ebay!
I am with you though. Why make it easy for anyone who breaks in to your house? I am in a quiet neighborhood and rather far back from the street on a 3/4 acre lot so it is not convenient for most would-be thieves!
But if you must, just remember that here in TEXAS, we dial 3-5-7 before we dial 9-1-1!
