@rashrader just wanted to thank you for NOT installing Nords in this bass. I own it now and am totally enamored with the Citrons and passive tone controls. Nothing wrong with Nords, but this bass is absolutely amazing in its current state for me :hyper: I'm now in the predicament of deciding what I'm willing to sell to fund a fretted build with Martin.

I'm amazed at so many things with these pickups. They are at least as high gain as the hottest preamp loaded basses I've played, they are dead quiet from a shielding and interference standpoint, and the range of tones I can get out of the 4 way selector is amazing. There's also the 16 position Tonestyler but I'm actually not really using it much because of my love for the 4 way selector. I figured with 2 rearward closely spaced pickups and passive tone controls that this bass may be limited in it's tonal range, but it's totally the opposite.

I hope everyone is healthy and well! My new semi hollow 6 is at the finisher (along with a good friend's semi hollow 4). Martin sent me a picture of the aluminum bottom for the new bridge design. I had asked to be able to properly intonate the bridge. He came up with a new design. This plate will be inset into the body. The rest will be ebony. This will give us more strength and will allow me to intonate properly.

Also, Martin got a CNC Machine recently, and that's how this was achieved. This will also aid in instruments being finished very quickly. This is a huge positive for anyone that wants to order in the future. I know he's hoping to start offering in stock instruments eventually because of the new speedier process. This is great news!! This also allows him to work on new designs now that he'll have more time to do so. I'm super pumped for him!!

Anyway....look for some photos of the new semi hollow bass soon!!

And how great is Martin, that he would do this?!? He's not satisfied unless the owner is. To call him a class act is an understatement.

Yeah, we both went into the first one knowing it was a new idea and knowing it may not work. He fixed it a couple of times and then offered to make a new body. Very grateful.
