In honor of my upcoming (first) trip to Sturgis! I hope I don't get too much **** for the "rice burner."

1994 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200XLH. I bought it in 2008 with 7900 miles. Just turned over 9000.

I've since put on forward controls.

Pretty! But you rode 1100 miles in two years? Why even bother owning a bike?

My '95 Kawasaki has 83K miles.

Guess I can't blame you. I've ridden an old hard mounted EVO sporty and I don't know that I'd do much riding either. :hiding: Except maybe back and forth from the paint store. ;)

From my experience with many trips to Daytona I'd say that you won't get any **** if you actually ride it there, no matter what the bike is. Well over 90% of the non-touring Harleys are trailered to events such as these. Of the big Harley FLH touring rigs, probably under 25% are trailered.

Interesting. Definitely planning on riding. Just about 350 miles from my house. ;)

Nice bike. Yamaha?

Pipe, and flat cap: shouldn't you be riding a BMW? :)

/used to ride a BMW
// still smoke a pipe.

Suzuki M109R, 2006, first year. Got hold of it before it was ever badged. Only indication of brand is an "S" on the gas tank. ;)

Ever since my youth, a BMW airhead was my dream bike. When I returned to riding a few years ago, my first bike purchase was a K series. But unfortunately the intervening years made it god awful uncomfortable to ride for any distance. These days, my hip is bad enough I doubt I could get on and off a bike that high off the ground. Yes, there is probably a hip replacement in my future. Perhaps this winter in fact. :(

I love those Suzukis. If I ever go cruiser, I'm getting one.

This is what I've got: GS500F (not mine in the pic, but mine's the same)

There are laws in Australia which limit leaners to a power to weight ratio of 150kw per tonne. For a learner bike, this one is great :)
