well, nows the time to pick up a sweet deal on a used geezerglide, with the economy the way it is, & with a little cash in your pocket, you can pretty much take your pick.

i picked up this FatBoy at a ridiculous price, & with the upgrades that i've done i'm still way ahead.

I picked up my FatBob at a great price new, in Orlando. I knew what the rock bottom price would be based on what friends had been paying and negotiating at other dealers. They had a promotion going like I never saw before. The day I bought my bike, they must have sold 20 in the two hours I was there. Everytime they closed a deal, they rang a bell. It was crazy. They gave my wife a $500 gift cert for accessories to close what I considered and already amazing deal. If I can work out a similar deal, probably over the summer again, I'll buy new.

"hayabusa"

we used to always call those "hey-you're-busted" because the one guy I know who had one had a string of tickets longer'n'yer arm

I sold my Duc when I went unemployed in the spring of '08. I still have my ZRX, which admittedly just ain't as kewl, but it's much more functional given that I could only keep one, and it holds true to what I want in a bike: a big motor and two wheels.

I have probably half a million miles on BMW's, but I just don't have the time to take off for weeks at a time like I used to. I do miss having a nice fairing, and big saddlebags sometimes...

These are great bikes - still want one.

They are dirt cheap used anymore; which is part of why I kept it, and sold the ducati. Looking at what they sold for around here, it just didn't seem worth it to let it go for ~$2k.

Good ole Guzzis! My dad is the #1 Dealer for Guzzis in Texas, last I checked. I love 'em. The new V7 classic :D

Love that Ural too, but I'll stick my real BMW haha. I'd love to check out a Ural though

That's cool. Your dad is one of many knowledgeful contributors on the Guzzi forums. A great resource for us amateur tinkerers.

Ural may not have the best reputation, but mine was fully overhauled by the importer back in '93, and has been a very reliable bike.

...
Ural: I'd love to check out their driven side-car rig.

Invalid Link Removed's some Ural w/sidecar offroad action. Note the full reverse at 1.01... :D

Mine's a solo bike, but it has the reverse lever on the gear box. No reverse though...

Thanks for the kind words. The whole MPH gang spends a lot of time on the Wild Guzzi forums (if that's what you're referring to)

Also, I do dig the Urals, and consider the early ones the next best thing to an early BMW

But................................................if you look at the machine work, the fit and finish and plain art of construction.................... the Ural is like a plain F'n rock, next to a diamond. I had an upright 250 single, a 58 open driveshaft R500 and a 63 R600, and a 69 R600US, miss the R600 the most. I'd be dead if I'd have kept it though. That was in my drinkn' days, and the bike was so quiet, I'd go to sleep on it. Woke up on the gravel shoulder more times that I'd like to count. God watches out for the stupid, I guess.

$4k?
In his dreams;) At least around here...
If I could get that for mine, I might have sold it as well.
The zrx1200's go for a little more, sometimes, depending who's looking.

Good point. His might be a 1200. I have room to store more motorcycles again and the thought of buying it crossed my mind. I really want to get an Electra Glide for longer distance touring and keep my current Dyna as well. A zrx would make a fun, third bike but I'll probably hold off until some sort of an amazing deal on a really cool bike comes along..........and they DO come along, especially after Daytona.

As spoken by Butters on South Park:

"I always thought, someday when I grow up I'm gonna get a Harley. Then people will have to notice me, and they'll have to deal with MY **** for once. The open road! The wind on my face! I'll go from city to city! Rowrrowrroowwrr! Everyone lookin' at me! "Who's that guy? He must be a Hoo- he must be tough!" Vromvrom, vromvrom, vrooom! I'll have my girl on the back seat holdin' on to my fat belly - sure she's missin' a few teeth, but she thinks I'm coool. That's why, when I grow up, I'm gonna be a Harley rider! "

I agree! But my back hurts just from looking at the pictures! :bawl:

It's a man's bike.;) I'm 46 with a bad back and I can handle it. I ride it everyday down a bumpy concrete freeway, but smooth asphalt IS my friend.

I'm saving up for one of these...
