I own a pair of 1966 Klira 356 Twen Star basses. The one on the right has been used quite a bit over the years but is in very good condition. While the one on the left is virtually unplayed and in mint condition. It's rarely been out of its case as you can see by the differences in the finishes between both basses.

FYI, these were made in Bubenreuth, Germany. The same small village that Hofner was located in until 1990 before they moved 5 kms down the road to the village of Haganau.

I personally perfer the Klira to the Hofner because they have a slightly wider neck than the 500/1 and much hotter pickups than the type 511 Hofner "staple" pickup.

Man, I'm loving those T-Basses! Especially the colors...how're the necks on those? Slim?

The necks are wicked slim! These are the most overlooked and underrated basses I have ever played! Invalid Link Removed is a sample of me noodling around on the Sonic Blue one. It's recorded direct into Garage Band. It's quiet for some reason when I uploaded it.

These basses were made by Status, and you can hear the funk in the pickups and electronics. This was with the pickups both full on, and the EQ flat. My local shop owner told me I wasn't allowed to bring it back in when he was trying to sell Metro's!
