Thanks, but if that's what the Italian currently charges for both making a body and gilding it - I can't compete ~You'd have to ask him yourself, but I believe @JIO does similar work on the West Coast.
you make some great guardsMan! There are some wonderful and amazing parts basses on this thread! Really enjoy seeing them!
Probably more so than playing bass, putting together parts basses is my "thing". A hobby. A love.
I have at least 6 too many parts basses. This one is probably my favorite because of the way it looks. Nothing special except for the mini cowhide guard.
A MIM Mike Dirnt road worn lacquer white body with an Allparts Tele Bass neck + aftermarket Fender decal. S. Duncan SPB-1 P pickup. Gotoh vintage reverse tuners. Fender vintage all thread saddle bridge. Made the guard myself with real cowhide Probably got $750 in this bass. I love it's conservative, modest and somewhat "natural" appearance.

Looks great! I'm curious: where did you get the body? Was it made by a local Luthier or ???View attachment 7501654
My ultimate parts bass. 2002 Precision 5 string neck, Lace Aluma Stealth Bass Soap Bar pickups, Babicz Mono Rail bridges, Hipshot Ultra Lite tuners, passive volume/blend controls, Figured maple/walnut sandwich Ric inspired body.
