Jacko...yes, it's a keeper....well, for now the question is what type of strings??? TI flats is the best for the SR5 and new Musicman. but..don't likeee on the pre-EB. Any suggestions??

You're kidding?! It sold already that was a nice one too! I'm still "gassing" for a pre-EB and I especially love that Sunburst one you picked up.

but I already knew what you had from my visits to Camp Bovine. Do you know if they ever made StingRay's in the white sparkle like your Sterling? I really dig that color but the EB site states it's discontinued.

I've never seen a Stingray in white sparkle, but it was available so I suspect there are some out there.
I've seen (obviously) a white sparkle Sterling and a white sparkle Stingray 5, so my guess is that yes, Virginia, there ARE white sparkle Stingrays.
It's hard to believe that the sparkle finishes didn't sell well enough to be continued. They are really superb and rather understated finishes (well, as understated as sparkle can get).

man this thread has really gotten me into wanting a stingray, but its edging more on an OLP!
few questions.
what is the piezo? from what it looks like, it is seperate pickups for each string on the bridge?
can you get an OLP in trans white?
if I was to get an active EQ for the OLP, can you get a preamp that would fit in the route?
I'm going to go down to the musicstore sometime nearer christmas and check the OLP's out and compare them to the real thing. i have no chance of getting a Sting Ray, even a second hand as they are still expensive even then!

Olp comes in black/pearl blue with rosewood fretboard(4 string), and natural and black maple, and rosewood, accordingly (5 string).

Yeah, these are some really nice basses. Check out Link Removed that I just sold on eBay for a friend (got $880 for it). If I didn't already have a Spector on the way, I'd have taken it myself.
