That's the one with the big port on the bottom of the cab, right? I always thought that was a good idea, to use the space around the cab as well as the cab, to get the character of the sound- and the volume.
Yup, that's right. Actually, there's two ports, each about 2.5"-3" across. I have a couple of springs fastened to the front feet, so it tips back a few degrees and really projects, but the springs help stop it resonating with hollow floors and/or stages.
A damping suspension! That'swhutahmtalkin'bout! That cab is meant to link up, but boy you can get trouble there. Good idea!
You could even elevate the amp, and bring your own mini plywood 'floor' along to stick under it for real bad hollowness... just damp the 'floor' with some kind of 'suspension', and put the amp over it.
Leave it to me to just over-Leonardo it to death.
I can honestly say, I've NEVER been happier with my tone... and to think I found it in a recreation of a rig I put together in the early 90s

Mesa Road Ready 4x10s...I was told (of each) that it was EV loaded, but with the different speaker cone colors, I'm skeptic of one (or hell, both) of said claims. Not that it really matters; they're kick ass cabs. Weigh a ton, but also have tone to justify it.
PODxt and a Carvin DCM1000 on top. Oh, and a Roscoe.

The top ones look like the EVs that were in my Buster 2x10 combo... To my eye, the bottom ones have an Eminence-look about them...
The true answer is just a few removed and replaced screws away....but you said it best when you said that they sound great and that's what matters.
I think those might be Edens. I know they did use Eden speakers in the early 90's.
