Show your amps! Part 2

Bad picture. It's so dark in the practice cave the camera's screen is always black. I have to guess and shoot, then use Vista's awesome "autofix" to make it bright enough. Maybe somebody can tell what this stuff is. Might qualify for "Rigs of Doom," but that thread is a mess, since anything bigger than a 1X10 combo is apparently doomy as all get out.

Line 6 POD X3 Pro as preamp --> Crown XLS 202 poweramp --> Hartke XL 4x10" (alu-cones) cab

Another pic, also in this shot an Ashdown Perfect Ten and my humble guitar amp, Line 6 Spider 30:

I'm thinking of ditching the POD X3 as preamp.
Maybe a whole new head, or maybe keeping my poweramp and find a nice preamp.

I'm gassing for a new Trace Elliot head.
Will that work well with my Hartke cab?

Anybody has a suggestion? I play metal and I want a good clean sharp sound.
(No need for warmth, tube grit or anything like that.) :)

What is it you don't like about the X3? This looks like my ideal rig (although I'll probably get a X3 Live and go for just a power amp in a rack.)
