The rig is very aggressive sounding, 'authoritative' if thats a way to descirbe sound. I dont know who Johnny Christ is, if you have any videos or soundlcips, Ill let you know. :) I tried pretty much everything looking for my ideal pop/rock tone, and it just had to be the GK for me. YMMV.

No clicking, never heard of that before.

There's a little bass "solo" at 0:50 to hear the bass clearly. The tone is just deep but growly :bassist:

I just had to know ya know.
But it was a dumb qn. Johnny uses the GK2001RB with Neo cabs and a Sterling. :p

Thank god no clicking.

Edit: That's a NEO412 right? Which two cabs could add up to that?
Jack's cabs are nice but their kinda tall and thin looking. :p

Thats an interesting cab. Can't say that I've seen one of those before! I bet it weighs a ton.

Nope, no pedals.
I think he used the distortion section on the 2001RB.
Guess I've just got to have a GK Diesel Dawg too then.

So anybody know which 2 Neo Cabs make a "fatter" combo?

I actually use the 112 on its side most of the time (so it taller than wide) and the sideways logo has never bothered me.

Nope, I still have the head, though it has a five band EQ on the right side , and the signature light-blue Acoustic trim. I'll have to dig it out and perhaps use the name you provided to get it up and running again.

You're right - how do you transport all this stuff. Well I use a Fiat Punto and I measured a couple of cabs before I built them and then thankfully they fit in v. snugly - but no passenger room - just me and 4 cabs, bass, mixer and three amps.....- enough to seriously injure me if I stop suddenly! (ha ha).

The answer of course is to use speaker designed for sealed cabs (few of those photoed are sealed) and that brings the size down to about 1/3 of these big ones. BUT to compensate for that you'll need double or treble the power in the amp to drive speakers that are now pretty inefficeint. Soooo smaller speakers but much heavier drivers in them - bigger power amp - much heavier. Weight up - size down.

And sealed cabs are most likely to sound more punchy than bassy and loose.

Simple "Lighter" rig. Wicked loud though.

Lakland JO5 into Avalon U5 into Aguilar AG500 into Aguilar S810.
I've honestly never been happier with my tone it's probably one of the more affordable rigs i've owned too.
:D

Too bad I don't have a car :hmm:
The legal driving age here is 18 i think. I wonder if it will fit in a taxi :ninja: :p
