Crikey this threat motors on at a pace! LowFreek - what I meant to say was....that that rig looked so huge and comprehensive, that there must be a DVD player and a projector hidden in there somewhere. It occurred to me the other day that since we have lights and music driven light shows that hooking up a projector to either a DVD (and play some great DVD/visual) or a camera and been seen huge behind on the back wall. (Mmm - that still doesn't seem to be coming out right - I didn't mean to suggest you have a huge behind. [In the UK 'behind' can mean the same as 'fanny' and you don't want to discuss here what we think is a 'fanny'])

We could all have a lot of fun with the new inexpensive cameras and projectors and do the arena concert thing - but (much) smaller scale. If I get it sorted I'll give some feedback on the glitches and/or vibe it creates.

The Omni 10 is my current favorite cab. It may be a little heavy but not out of line with the other cabs. It also might be a little louder though I haven't done any tests related to volume. It goes loud enough for some near painful level practices and I've never had a volume shortage with the amps I've used. The sound quality is the main reason I like the cab. Much better range than the others with better lows than my 210 and better highs than the 115. Less weight and bulk than the 210/115 combo too ;) And it's unusual looking which wins big points with me!

Wademeister63 - yep I did the same thing with the two Eminence design speaker cabs I built - I went for quality of sound and tone - it's just they are so big - but the tone is knock-out. Also with speakers like these they seem less directional and punchy compared to smaller speakers. There's no way you would want to start selling more of these though - - the store space they'd take and the trucking costs would make them a non-starter. I was very interested in making a couple of Omni 15's but they were just slightly too big to fit in my car.

How much does the Omni 10 weigh?

For reference I went ahead and weighed what I have.

The Workingman's 210T with replacement drivers (Eminence Kappa Pro I think... I got them quite a while back from Dave at Avatar) weighs in at a hefty 69 pounds.

The Avatar B115H weighs 65.5.

The Omni 10 is at 54.5.

My Omni is loaded with the Eminence BP102's, which I guess are about some heavy bastages for 10 inchers. From what I've read, the Basslite 2010's weigh about 7 pounds less each so I could probably reduce the weight of this cab to around 40 pounds. Still not bad considering the weight of the other cabs I have hanging around!
