Show your amps! Part 2

Best rig I've ever used...:D

One more 12" than tplyons, one less than WalBassPlayer. :D I usually I only use the head and 212 though. I think the whole shebang has only been out together once.

Sorry for the dark shot, must try and get better ones.

Dude, I HAVE to know about that GK-Stingray5 combo!
How loud can it get? In terms of football fields. Both enclosed and open areas.
Can it do big and ballsy?? Aggressive, head biting, Metal, Hardcore etc. You get the picture. and Johnny Christ's City of Evil tone.
Does it click? There's a thread a while back about Stingray clicking when played thru a GK rig.:hmm:

Thanks!

How loud it can get isnt even an issue. Just the head a 212 is so much volume that I've yet to turn it past 1/2, even at loud rock gigs where Im not in the PA. Havent used it outdoors yet, maybe this summer. As Im sure youve noticed, even in this thread a LOT of people are using the 1001/Neo cabs rig, and Ive yet to hear anyone complain about volume.

The rig is very aggressive sounding, 'authoritative' if thats a way to descirbe sound. I dont know who Johnny Christ is, if you have any videos or soundlcips, Ill let you know. :) I tried pretty much everything looking for my ideal pop/rock tone, and it just had to be the GK for me. YMMV.

No clicking, never heard of that before.

Jack.

Salicete,
tell me more about the Acoustic cab. Was that orig a
combo? What year is it from?

Thor, I have had that little Acoustic for over 10 years, and it originally had a 100 watt Acoustic amp built into it. (It is a 1 x 15)The Acoustic amp got toasted and I could not locate parts, so I slid the GK 400RB head in and it fit and worked just fine.

I'm not sure what year the cab was made, but I'll inspect it tonight and see if there is a date on it.

Hopefully you didn't throw the unit out.

Here is a guy known for restoring them.

I got his link from acoustic360.

This is a B60-115 and here is an original pic.
The logos were different in the 70's, I got to think
this is from the 60's. If the speaker is original, back then
they used Altec Lansing drivers iirc
