Ironically, that's the inverse of the rig that I posted a picture of yesterday (450 head, 301 cabinet).

I wanted a 371 or at least a 456 (450 + 406) in the worst way. List price on the 371 was $1299 and a 456 listed for $949 in '74 dollars (which equates to $5060 and $3700 respectively in 2002 dollars). Needless to say I spent $200 on the used Carvin head and homebuilt EV SRO 15 loaded 2x15. Kids today have it so easy with cheap used gear prices...that $200 that I spent in 1974 would have $780 worth of buying power today. Careful shopping can yield quite an amp for under $800.

 OK, OK.....my rig consisted of the 410xl and the peavey head. *sigh*
The rest of the stuff is my FOH rig, all mackie.
I really love the double bay kriz kraft rack that hold my effects, eqs, etc. But it is too big for just a bass rig.
I was looking @ yours, pls give me a list of your stuff. I want to build a AAA bass rig.

Rabbid-granny...that's a great rig!!! Last summer I saw a Chicago based band that plays "MTV era" covers and some originals a couple of times. The bassist uses the same Yorkville combo that you have with a MIM P Bass. His bass is stock except that he substituted a Lindy Fralin P bass pup for the Fender pickup. That (pair of hands), bass and amp produce the fattest, warmest, juiciest tone I've heard in a long time.

That's the CB112, right? I've got the CB115 without the tweeter, and it's so easy to carry compared to my peavey 410. Unfortunately I dont get any definition from it alone as its just a 15 and lacks a tweeter. Good low end when used with the 410.

However, I'm just wondering how that CB112 of yours sounds. I want something that will have some definition for jazz soloing without having to haul my 410 to every practice, and if it's good enough, I may use the 12 on its own for gigs, or with the 15. I think 2 of these CB cabs is easier to stack (on their sides) than sticking a 410 with wheels on the top of the 15 flipped sideways, and perhaps a bit easier if I have a handtruck or soemthing to put both of the CB's on it;)

Nothing beats a big old 410 with a 15 though unfortunately, so the 410 seems like it'll always remain my gigging rig
