I'm looking at purchasing a used Omni 10 2x10 cab. What can you guys tell me about this model I primarily play through the board and front of house but am looking at a stand alone rig to use playing quieter worship music through my lower powered Hartke head. I'll upgrade the head to a TC or BG type head towards the end of the year.

I sold those bfm omnitop 15s to music go round. I also bought them from the Sam music go round. Talkbass user StoBro was the original owner who first sold them to musicgoround. Those cabs are amazing, balanced tone, very light, very loud.

Thought they'd have more lows though, to me anyways...it was an impulse buy I must admit....just wasn't what I thought they'd be....and I miss the high end of a smaller speaker....ah well

The 3015 isn't known for it's low end but the cab design makes up for that. Those cabs didn't have great low end or high end, they do have a mid hump.....but with the right amp you can get more than enough low end. For me there was enough high end, I don't like tweeters. I used Those cabs with a SWR 400s and one thing I found out was they are very loud cabs. When I bridged my amp I was able to power 1 cab and be as loud as I ever needed to be. So as loud and light as these cabs are, if you have a good eq section and you can put 400 watts into it you can gig with 1 cab easily. I was going to do a custom grille and tiltback handle, casters etc.....but I went in a different direction. Seriously those are overall best cabs I've used. There's always a trade off with weight, volume, size....etc. Those BFM omnitops were the perfect compromise of all factors and gave great results. I'd really like to try the jack series. another awesome thing is that music go round doesnt know how to price them. I bought them for $180 each. A single 3015 neo driver alone costs more than that.

Not sure if this is still current. I have an Omni 10, and it's one of my favorite cabinets ever.
The fact that it's been replaced on his list by the Jack doesnt' take away from the cab. The '67 Vette replaced the previous generation, but I'd take a '65 in a heartbeat :-)

Great looking cabs! Where did you get the skids for the back? I am looking for some like that for my T39.

I'm going to put a grill cloth on there eventually and I'm now using an Ampeg Portaflex 500 with it. Played my first show with it a couple weeks back and it killed.

I do get a little boomy on some the lower frequencies - around about a G or A on the low E string. I have an EQ pedal coming in, though to help me fine tune the sound.

Overall I'm super pleased.

Funny... I just revisited my years-long curiosity in Fitzmaurice cabs this weekend. I'm almost exclusively on IEMs these days for gigs, but I've always thought it would be cool to build a BFM cab.

@41Hz To Go - Nice cabs! Are those freshly built, or just "new to you?" Will also be watching for a report on them. And tell me about that metal nameplate on the 15? Is that something you had made?
