SHOW YOUR BLACK BASSES!!!

Went a little camera happy today. The Traben Moyer Havoc, the Peavey Foundation, and the BTB405QM:

Well here's my "contribution".

(The one on the far left. Not the short scale 4 or the honorary "short scale EADGBE 6-string ;)".)

It went black, but decided to go back.

I see a lot of threads started about bass color schemes.
My favorite style basses are typically all black basses. Rosewood or ebony fretboards, painted necks, painted headstocks, black hardware, etc. The more black the bass has on it, the better.

Posting pics of basses with black paint with metal flakes, transparent black finish, maple necks, natural headstocks and chrome/gold hardware is cool too.

From what I'm told, the Status does not violate the MusicMan patent since it is made overseas. The neck was PERFECT from day one. It never, ever budged.

I don't think that's the case. I think I've heard that Status actually has some kind of licensing agreement with Earnie Ball. Now and then when EB releases special edition basses with graphite necks, It's actually Status that produces the necks.

Bovinehost can probably correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I just happened to have a picture with both of my black basses in it:

Like (apparently) everyone else on this forum, I picked up an SX recently, just for giggles. The J-bass cost all of $89, and only needed a set-up and a little work on the nut to be a solid player. The other one is an Acoustic Black Widow, which was sold by the Acoustic amp company back in the early 70s, and this one was built for them by Mosrite.

I don't have this one anymore but last year I used it for most of my in-town gigs:
