Looks like it's gone through a bit of revision since '68. Does it have the separate maple fret-board or is it one piece? With fb wear like that, how are the frets? How does it sound w/that pu set-up? Is it a twin saddle string-thru bridge?

It's the original twin saddle thru bridge, yes.....with that wear I was surprised, but the frets aren't bad, they are the originals, and I'll be throwing flats on to get em to last longer. Fretboard/neck are one piece! Sound is incredible..... wired Volume/Tone, Volume/Tone and the single has a good punch, nice and low with powerful mids, then you add the split and that one does the whole P thing, bright highs to thumpy pbass sound.....then, blend em with the volumes and you've got a million options......I bought it based on the fact that it was a hellava "players" bass with original parts, but the sound and the feel of the neck ensures it'll be my go-to player for a long time to come!

That's cool! It's so hard trusting that an instrument will be one that you are drawn to based on pics and someone else's word (I've been there too!) - so glad it was all you hoped for! The Tele bass has been a fave of mine for a while! Yours looks to be a single piece of ash? I use a few flats (GHS, Thomastik-Infeld) but like La Bella Deep Talkin' flats the best.

I guess my '76 works. Its aging pretty well for poly. It seems rosewood board are rare then maple boards for a 70's P bass,plus the board is crazy nice looking and '76 is the last year I like of P bass as they are the last ones with nickel tuners. I dont know if the guts are original, it all looks original but I never actually pulled the guard, its the right amount of wear for me its got a little wood peaking out on the forearm area.

So… AV62 Jazz - is this a recently produced bass in the mold of a '62? I see the modern Hipshot tuners, but these basses come w/checked/aged finishes like this? Is it a FCS item? I'm impressed at the authenticity if so. Oh, and nice Tele too!
