I didn't notice the Custom Shop logo on my phone.
Interesting, that's not something I would think to be much of a thing, but I suppose over 50 years it's had a fair number of string changes. I'll have to keep that in mind for future relics. If it wasn't for the distinct line to the E string I would have attributed that to strap wear.
If flats the wear may be less to zero, but round-wound strings are like little files abet less sharp. Once a tiny chip occurs...

Years of trading up, down and all around have led me to these two. I've posted the T Bass before, but it never gets old...I unloaded almost every bass I had whilst living in the UK last year to stay afloat, and at the end of my second visa this one fell from the sky - or more accurately, St. Louis via a jazz player in NYC. I had always desired a nice white Tele Bass. Six months later after being apart from wife and beagles who are still in the UK, I have had to ditch the old 1968 fastback to pay for a residency visa application to get back to wife and dog family. And serendipidously, after losing my 1968 P last year to pay rent, another one appeared back here in AU. I don't know if its a coincidence or not, but these two both weigh right on 8 pounds.

There are a few aftermarket mute thingies out there. It was actually more of a thing in the 60's and many of the Japanese basses then had a mute device of some sort, and some were simple and worked well on the fly. (compared to the "classic" Ric mute design...)
Look at this...just look! I sorta want to smell it.
