Beauty - love this model and yours looks to be in VGC. What are the chrome bars above the pu's? I've seen them go for a healthy asking price on ebay.

A nice, well keep bass for it's age. Just really enjoy these older Teisco designs. I suspect it's probably pretty well balances due to the long top horn. The aged LPB doesn't hurt either.

The wear above the pickguard is interesting, looks like it's worn through the red layer along the whole length. Hopefully the decals come off easily and don't leave behind a shadow.

The decals will be removed w/o harming the finish, but unfortunately will leave a ghost. They are blocking UV rays and so will inevitably be darker underneath. Nothing one can do about that, it's part of its history like the buckle-rash on the back.

My impression from TB reading is that acoustic basses are favoured less well than electric basses.

This bass might make you grin, or cry, depending.

it’s a semi-acoustic- it originally had a preamp and output but the bass got so much use the pickups fell out.
So, it’s spent 98% of its life “can only be recorded with mic”, somewhat neutered. I never got time to use it plugged in.

It’s all original, the neck wood has some wonderful “figuring” from heavy use; I have a patent pending on the screwed E string bridge; the degradation above the soundhole is authentic thumb wear; it’s fretless; the tuners have all seized and i don’t reckon they will wind a fresh set of strings on.
(Yes i had to wind the A on with a “luthier’s knot”)

It was bought new in 2008 and used extensively ever since.

Love it...want it...I really must buy an acoustic bass of some sort.

Store I worked at had one in that color for a bit. It was more a metallic electric blue than a Lake Placid Blue - we placed it next to a LPB Amer STD Fender Strat and it was definitely not the same to our eyes back then.
