Such a beautiful bass.
I hated and detested the sunburst, tort & rosewood P look for years, mostly because it's so common.
Then I got one, now I want mine to look like yours. Unfortunately, with it being a CIJ '62 reissue (poly finish), it will never wear like that.

I like the pickguard design so much. I wonder if those lines are intended or it is aging too. The headstock though...Very Rare 1960 Kay K5970J Professional Electric Jazz Bass in Black with Case
no affiliation - just sublime, in it's aging and design.
What a cool video this is, really awesome view of the recording process. Pretty cool to see how they work through building the part, and also really cool that as much of a legend as Billy is, he still makes mistakes and isn't just doing one take perfectly. And you can see how humble he is, how well he serves the song and strips back his playing when asked. Killer.

That's incredibly cool. Very space age. Interesting bridge design, too. Also full-scale, unlike many of the oddball older instruments I see. I unfortunately don't have that kind of money, though. That worn sparkle finish looks badass.Very cool '65 Magnatone Hurricane with distressed silver-sparkle over black chequed finish. (no affiliation)
