I want a FL Knifemarker knife.

I carry a very similar Benchmade myself. Mine is an automatic version with a fully serrated blade. It's ugly and been through hell but it still works and cuts like a mutha!!!

I've had some training in the Pikal style (reverse grip, edge in). It seems to work best for me. I designed a Pikal style knife that actually caught on pretty well with the people skilled in that dicipline. It's an odd looking knife with one SINGLE intended use

Pikal is a nasty method of blade-handling, with one intent and it's damned effective. In fact, my complaint about the design of my kershow flipper folder is that the handle shape makes it a poor pikal knife.
My Emerson folder, on the other hand, works nicely. Love the purple liners on this one.

Those pikal knives of yours are rather GAS inducing, my friend. Wow.

A couple on the Filipino side of things:

Barry Dawson kerambit (great little offside carry) - this one is not mine, but I have one just like it.

A very cool bolo (pictured with the same family kukri) - pretty sure this is WWII vintage, probably made out of an old Jeep leaf spring. Very tough, a rough blade (not much finesse in the workmanship - a pure working knife). Remarkably well balanced in the hand.

And a pair for display - a 7 lak Indonesian Keris, and a Katar (Indian punching dagger).

That Commander has been "pimped"!! Gotta love the anodized liners!!! That's the fun of factory knives, adding all sorts of special touches. I've touched up many Emersons back in the day

Spyderco did a Pikal folder with lots of input from my Brother from another mother, Trace Rinaldi. Trace is the GURU of all Pikal style knifemakers.

I know they are popular but I've never tried one. Our booth was one away from them at the Blade Show last weekend and I never had time to go over there. IMHO, any type of diamond stone should work well. I'm not a fan of the gadget type sharpeners like Lansky though. The stones work fine but all the clamps and other BS is............................BS, IMHO.

Many of the CKRT knives pictured in this thread are designed by Kit Carson. Kit's a great guy and one of the founders of our forum. His custom knives are very popular.

I'd like to thank everyone in this thread for bringing my GAS for a nice fixed blade back to the surface

So now I'm looking to pick up a Russ Kommer designed CRKT Wrangell Alaska Pro Hunter.

Unless I can be given reason not too order that one as a work/utility knife.
