show your MODULUS!

The bass that was on the ad was like my bass except it had JJ PUPS on it, and gold hardware. I think it was titled Black Magic, or something to that effect. It's funny back when, you read stuff on mags, or newspapers, way before the internet took hold.

Yep, I have those ads too, in print, no mention of Tobias...

It's funny you mention the "net"...

I had a recent discussion about the "old stoneage" methods of communication. Can you imagine if people had to resort back to it...

PS: I tried to get a TBX when they just came out & it was impossible, especially with just pens & telephones back then...

I just received the response from Mike. I must've misinterpreted what I read 18 years ago. By the way, I'm really gassing for an MTD. Thanks Mike!

Email from MT:

I don't remember the tbx I did make one for them that was to go to Andy
West, bass player from the Dixie Dregs. I made a complete wooden bass
that they were going to mold...Andy liked it more than the molded one. Modulus changed the molded one some and somehow it ended up at Aria. That bass was not amazing. They had managed to mold in a negative neck angle and could
not get the bridge low enough. I don't know if they took care of that or not.
I never saw another one. I did also do a design for a Genesis bass which is no longer licensed to modulus as of this year.

Peace,

planet bass indeed. i wanted walnut, wanted chechen fingerboad, i wanted barts, and the ntmb preamp. one tidy package indeed.

what are/is your custom choices?

Haha yep that's the bass I was 5 minutes away from buying just 2 mo's ago. :)

Going to be Q5, fretted w/ chechen board, velvet blue over red finish, black h/w, barts w/ aggy obp-3 and mid sweep, active/passive switch, ash body.
Will rock like none other before it!

Here is my Sweet Spot with the EMG BTS controls, Black Hardware and the old style ABM bridge. The color is Pink over Blue. I took a tour of the S.F. factory back in the late 90's. Rich Lasner is a great guy and gave me a bunch of swag on my way out. I owned 3 Modulus basses at one time. But, I kept the best and sold the other 2. I GAS for a Sadowsky 5 now!

Man, I need to get another Q5. I really regret getting rid of both that, and my Q6 that replaced it. I have probably already said that in this thread, but I am way too lazy to read throught the whole thing again.:D

Stupid, stupid, stupid.:hmm:
