LOVE the Bill Lawrence P/J set!

...now wishing one of these were a 5er.....

I hear everyone say how "cheap" white guards look, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Old yellowed white guards are the best.

Here is my P/J.

Too bad it just doesn't seem to have the tone my Squier CV P has. I don't claim to know the reason (VVT syndrome/etc) but sadly it is for sale. If I didn't want a P5 so bad I would probably invest some money into this thing to get it to sound the way I want.

Squier Precision Special. Upgraded with Kent Armstrong (WD) Hot Vintage pups, Gotoh 201 and new pots. Plays nice and sounds great. I've probably just sold it, though.

FYI there are some FSR Japanese '75 Jazz P/J's coming ashore here in the next month. Aged Candy Apple Red, bound and blocked, 1,099 street.

A neck mudbucker, either in the style of a Gibson EB-0 (a fat-wound sidewinder pickup) or a DiMarzio DP120 Model One (a regular humbucker), mounted close to or underneath where the 24th fret would be. And an equally insane wiring schematic, but I'm saving the explanation of that that for when I actually draw one up.

Could be original as Fender offered a color they called "Walnut" back then.

Yes, original color. I think it was offered from '73 to '78-ish or so. Walnut, Mocka, Root Beer... I think those are all names for that color, though not sure which is the "real name" May be Walnut as Billy_B mentioned.
