When we opened the cases everything was full of water or mold. The nice fuzzy orange inside of the fender case had turned green and there was actually mold growing on the bass itself.

I woulda been cleaning up some mold and buying a new case.
Nothing wrong with a living bass anyway.
I've heard mold is excellent for tone anyway,

Sorry to hear about your bass, I hope it was covered under some kinda insurance or something.

The American tax payer paid for that wonderful bass and all that destroyed gear. I was an active duty army musician at the time. I'm guessing it was either cleaned up an auctioned off at a gov. auction, or worse, thrown in an incinerator.

I'd live to know what happened to it. It was featured in a Bass Emporium add in the back of bass player magazine circa. Summer-Fall 2008!

Glad to know I could help replace it for you. :-)

Thank you for your service, seems like we all got off pretty cheap, you risked your @$$ and lost your bass, we all got together and payed you a couple pay checks and covered your moldy bass.
So the least I can do is give you an Internet high five, and big THANKS for doing what most would not.
