My wife makes a lot of beautiful quilts. She recently made a small novelty quilt (Easter-themed with rabbits). She gave it to Lily, who seems to like it...
That's a tough loss for your family and life lesson for your kids. Sorry for your loss.
The "happy Easter" message we got from our son and daughter-in-law yesterday. Not sure the "happy" meaning translated to the pups in this one.

RIP Cocoa. Really sad for you and your family.
Edit: I love real dogs and cats, but my wife is allergic to their hair. I'm seriously considering getting a large turtle or tortoise for our plenty roomy, tightly fenced backyard.

Lost my boy Loki today and I'm hurting a lot.
But thankful for fourteen years of sweet, gentle, stable, friendship.
He made me feel better than I had for some time and I will really miss him.
He also helped teach seven foster dogs how to be well behaved pets and be ready for the homes they went to.
He lived a long full life and I'm glad that I could give him what he deserved.

Sorry to hear about Loki. Sounds like he was an amazing dog. I've said this before but I'll say it again, if it weren't for outliving our four legged loved ones, having a dog would be perfect. Still the unconditional love we get from them is worth the pain of outliving them. Here's to Loki.

My daughter took this one home for keeps, she's still a feisty little thing at 12 years old.

When we loose our beloved pets it's important to focus on the great home we provided with the structure and love they deserve. You were lucky to have him in your life and Loki was extremely fortunate to have you as a dad!

Exactly. When my mother's dog died a few years ago I reminded her... "You rescued him from the pound and gave him a better life than he ever could have imagined. You showered him with affection and attention, and he was in a loving home all those years. Yes, he's gone and you're sad, but reflect on how you made his life a happy one."
She appreciated me telling her that, said it made things a little easier knowing the joy they gave each other was reciprocated.
