A GBE 1200 would just look sick in a black face Limited edition or on all of them.. Little photoshop fun
Maybe a GBE 1800 :hiding::D

I love the bright LEDs. It's never been a problem for me, and I've stood far enough out from my rig and gotten feedback from people close to the stage and never have any complaints about how bright they are (which really aren't THAT bright) but it sets the amp apart. Keep the bright lights!

Im terrible with photoshop... but i have the week off so im messing with it.. way too many graphics to get it right so i did a negative of the 12.
For fun only.. this is NOT REAL

Ok, torture us with a mockup of the ShuttleMax 18.0 in black!

For those complaining of too bright LEDs and not visible enough knobs, would a small piece of strategically placed reflective tape convert the excess light into knob illumination?

Just a thought...

I'm just going to do what I did before -- I got a black whiteboard marker and colored over all the LEDs. It's totally removable (with just a slightly damp paper towel), and it dims the lights slightly, but not too much. Then they're the perfect brightness (to me) -- still bright, but not BRIGHT.

Quick question for the experts -- would a 9.0 fit in the same Genz bag as the 6.0 or is there a new bag for the 9.0? In other words, is it the exact same size?

I didn't initially have GAS for the 9.0 when I read this thread, but it's building in a hurry. Who doesn't want more power? And I'd bet it has that same great tone.

you like the black. There seems to be a lot of that in this thread. Does anybody like the silver? Pure market feedback question.

I really like the silver (on my GBE 750). And, I like the blue lights reflecting off it on a dark stage...

I also like the black on the 9.0... So, I'll have to look into one of those...

Both are very nice, professional-looking designs!

I like the silver but I wouldn't care what color it was. The sound, power, and light weight is what I bought.

How about swappable faceplates? ;) Tie dye anyone?

I also like the blue LEDs. One drummer called my 6 the Blue Light Special.

yes...fits in the same bag. The 9.0 and 6.0 have the exact same footprint.

I like the silver just fine. Both look fine and neither would sway my purchase. I don't like black instruments as much though. Given almost any choice I'll choose it over a black instrument - I find black instruments boring to look at.

KO

Each is sexy in its own way. I think going black to distinguish the new line is brilliant, but I would still keep the silver line as well.

Big +1 on making the knob markers easier to see and from what I have read here and there, blue LED's are not so good for the eyes.

So on that note... May I have a black face Max 18.0 with green LED's? ...Please? :D

BTW, the one BIG feature on the 6.0 for me is, like others have stated, the simple controls.
Lots of knobs and stuff make me go gaga as well. But I have found, at least for me, that I always got the best tone out of amps which limited me with the knob fiddling. They make me play and work to get the tone in my head out to my ears.

Here is a CRAZY idea Roger and Andy.......How about the simplicity of the 6.0/9.0 dropped onto the front end of the 1200?
6 knobs, 4 buttons, 1 tube and 1200 watts of lead-sled power.
Backwards as hell from where you guys are going I know. Just sayin'.....that's all. ;)

Lemme know when you guys do it. I'll be happy to test run one for ya! :D
And make it silver!

Bingo! Ditto! Yadda Yadda!

I have a 6.0 and a 1200. I keep the 1200 around when I need to run a 2ohm load using both of my 212T cabs.
However, I use the 6.0 on 98% of my gigs and absolutely love the simple controls.

Don't make too much fun of me for asking..... but can I use my 6.0 as a preamp for my 1200 through the effects loop?

Agreed. I don't care what color it is. Hell, paint it turd brown for all I care. I'll put on some brown Chucks to color coordinate.
As long as it still sounds good.

+1

I don't know if I'd go with "turd brown" lol, but like Mongo, I didn't buy the color. I like the silver, I like the black. Black would go nice with my tan tolex/black cabs. ;) What about a happy medium of gunmetal grey?

5sg.

Well... I was all set to go the pre/power amp route for my new DIY cab. However, the GREAT power ratings of the 9.0 and the new black color scheme has swayed me back to a head. Great job on the 9.0 Genz! (Speaking from specs and cosmetics standpoint only FOR NOW) I'll be buying one of these in the near future.

Cheers,

Zach
