I just got an Acoustic B410C cabinet (400W) that I'm powering via my Ampeg BA-210 V2 (450W). The Acoustic cab has an 8ohm impedance, which is the specified need for my Ampeg in order to power an additional speaker. I've connected with a Livewire Elite 12g Speakon 2-Pole Speaker Cable. I plugged directly into my Ibanez SR500 and let it rip - the sound was tight!
The following day I added my pedalboard to the mix and practiced with my band's guitarist. The jams were great, but there were times when my signal would intermittently cut out, which seemed to happen when we were really peaking volume-wise. The Ampeg was rolled to about 6-7 on volume with the added -15db engaged, and my bass was cranked pretty high as well. I'm wondering if I was just pushing the amp too hard and it cut out? When I disengaged the -15db, it seemed to elimintate the issue. I realize that some patch cable connections could be loose on my pedalboard, which I am going to investigate as well. Assuming the pedalboard is NOT the culprit, is this just the result of pushing too hard & too loud, or might there be something going wrong? Please help!
