SIMPLE bass lines that make the song...

I see a lot of people throwing in songs that might be "simple" for them, but the reality is quite a few of these are not easy whatsoever if you don't have a more than a decent degree of skill on the instrument. I could name a bunch of songs that are easy for me, but that does not mean that they're easy for someone who hasn't been playing long (or even some advanced ones). What's the next "piece of cake" song? "The Sinister Minister"? Give me a break . . .

Eternal Life by Jeff Buckley, Money by Pink Floyd, Message in a Bottle and Walking on the Moon by the Police, Race with the Devil on a Spanish Highway by Al Di Meola (simple apart from the one ridiculously fast part, of course), Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Son and Daughter and Flash by Queen, Happy Jack by the Who. Sorry if any of these have been mentioned (they probably all have).

I didn't read the entire thread, but here are a few:

Jackson 5 - I Want You Back
James Brown - Sex Machine
The Jam - Eton Rifles
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Apache Rose Peacock
The Cure - Love Song
The Cure - The Love Cats
Queen - Another One Bites The Dust
Nirvana - Come As You Are
The Police - Walking On The Moon
The Church - Under The Milky Way
New Order - Blue Monday (synth bass, but still...)
U2 - New Year's Day
Firehose - Brave Captain
The Police - Driven To Tears
Sade - Paradise
Hall and Oates - I Can't Go For That
The Style Council - Long Hot Summer

I'll throw in a couple if my very firsts

1. So Lonely - The Police...pretty easy pattern (follow the dots) that has a key change but the fingering remains the same. Even at the end when he plays in the upper octave the student could still play the song in the lower register until he/she is comfortable.

2. Where the streets have no name - U2

3. Vertigo - U2 (another follow the dots) it does move around a bit, but always on the dots markers.
