Has anyone suggested a Markbass yet? No-one? Ok...
I did -- #100.

Of the capable answers, what did you decide? Is there any reason why you won't share any of the gear you currently use? It's relevant to provide the best suggestions for you to achieve your particular goal, agreed?I posed a question - many people capably answered; a select group got offended because I didn't give my life story.
Perspective. I didn’t read thru 10 pages of post. Hope you found something you like. That is a lot of knobs
So.........folks
No having a single bass amp with a million knobs doesn't mean you don't like tone - actually it is the opposite.
If you really like tone control, you will use:
- a power amp
- different pre-amp pedals to adjust tone.
Power amp + pre-amp pedals gives you the greatest tone control per $ spent
I’m so curious as to what amps you had in the past that were so unreliable.
More knobs, more buttons, more points of weakness, more problems - basic probability math.
I know the problem well .
I have to thank the OP for circuitously making me aware of the GR Bass gear. I’d never heard, or heard of them. Amp and a carbon fiber cab for a 25 lb load-in. Fascinating idea. Anyone ever used/heard this gear?
Heard OF them? Yes. HEARD them? No. There seems to be some difficulty in that department. But a few people do have some of their stuff -- there have been threads. Search those out, or start a new one specific to that brand.... GR Bass gear. I’d never heard, or heard of them. Amp and a carbon fiber cab for a 25 lb load-in. Fascinating idea.
