Single Malt Scotch!

I'm also enjoying my Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or very much and would like to get something else on the sweet/sherry/spicy side of things.

Forgot to comment on that, but Nectar D'Or is really something special. More flavorful than the two I just purchased, and almost as smooth.

I've been a bourbon and tequila guy forever but my new girlfriend likes this, and I gotta say, it's made me a believer. SO smooth and not too peaty (I don't like strong peat which is what kept me away). But she's also into the really gnarly stuff like Laphroaig, which she describes as 'Like drinking a cigar' (she likes cigars too!).
Since I like this one (a lot), are there others I'd probably like that aren't so expensive? Thanks!

My wife just got me a bottle of Glenrothes Select Reserve. $40 and should be just right for you! The peaty scotches can be a bit of an acquired taste, so don't be afraid to experiment a little. You could pick up a bottle of Lagavulin 16 when you want to splurge and that would be a great intro to peat.

Well my local store didn't have that but they have Glenfiddich 12 year old for $40. Not bad at all. Not as good as the Glenlivet 15 but that's $60. They have Glenlivet 12, also $40 but figured I'd try a different brand. Hmm. I think I've found a new hobby- best $40 bottle search. : D

My favorite local liquor store had a sale today (one item - 20% off) so even though I didn't need another bottle, I bought a Lagavulin 16yr for $53.68 (that's after tax). Thought about trying something new, but that was too good to pass up.

I thought about getting an Oban 14 or another Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or (both of which were about the same, maybe a couple bucks higher) but I know I like Lag and it was the most crazy low price. They always have Ardbeg 10 for that price, and I just opened another bottle of that.

If I could just find Aberlour A'bunadh at that price I think I'd be done.

I would be all over the Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or. love that stuff, but it's a hit to the wallet.
