No Birthday is complete without your favorite Scotch! So lucky Costco had been selling this since late last year. Much cheaper than any liquor store.

Blending multiple vintages of single malts selected by the malt master results in this brilliant gold dram; notes of cereal, sugar cookies, roasted nuts and toast on the nose introduce you to the subtle flavours of vanilla, raisins, nuts and cream on the palate that are followed by a chorus of spicy notes on a long finish.

When is something like that actually bottled? Surely it didn't spend 72 years in an oak cask?
I just happened upon this thread and found this pic I took in 2005. The beginning of a great appreciation of Scotch. It is still my sipping brand but as time has passed I do enjoy the heavier peaty brands more and more.

Didn't like the Dalwhinnie the first couple times I tried it, but ended up becoming on friendly enough terms that I bought a bottle a while back. Time to replace it it would seem!
I take it you enjoyed the place and might be finding yourself there again?
I enjoyed the entire country yes, and would like to return for an extended stay. Driving the countryside is my favorite part of travel in any country I visit, so its best to not plan where, but when and how long.
The Distilleries are so well spaced out you couldn't do them all in a few weeks. Would take a lifetime to enjoy and savour them all. Would make for an interesting holiday altho i have a feeling you may not remember too much of it. Altho i'm a Scot and live in Scotland i always holiday here, usually at Loch Ness which is a great starting point for most destinations.
I'm always happy to offer suggestions to anyone visiting Scotland if it helps.

Anyone tasted the Ardbeg Kelpie? I've got a bottle waiting to be opened, I'm just wondering what to expect - compared to Uigeadail, the 12yo etc.?
And as my own opinion I'll give a wholehearted +1 to Diurach's Own (Jura), which has been mentioned in the last couple of pages. It's good, especially if you want a more "sweet" whisky occationally.
