singlecut chambered.

Jordan, I'll post a close up pic of an eight string nut in a few minutes, might help.

Stringing it EeAadDgG will ruin your playability, you will have to change both left and right hand technique for the D's and G's.

This should show you what you need to do.

so the octive e and the bass G are equal distance from the center, and need to have an equal amount of nut and fretboard out from them, correct? anything else that might help figure this out? i bet it will make more since once the parts get here, so i can lay it all out. instead of sketches

Bingo.

Yeah, probably be far easier, once you see it all properly.

the stuff from warmoth is here (still need to do a stew mac order) i got the schaller 8 bridge, guitar tuners, knobs, copper shielding, and a few other things. did a mock up where i just pushed it together and rough placed the parts. since the neck, fretboard and headstock and still square shaped, and the body wings are still rough cut, plus a few other major details, it was not very revealing of the final bass. took some pics anyway. found out that all my computers wiped out the software to uplad pics from the camera. will fix that asap and put up the long overdue pics. decided to put a cherry binding on the fingerboard to match the top of the headstock and body core. next steps are taper the fingerboard and neck, silicone the truss rod, and glue the fingerboard. should i glue the fb immediatly after putting the silicone in, odr let the silicone dry first?

like i said, it will get better. still need to cut some of the width from the neck through, top the neck thru section with cherry, taper the fretboard, put on cherry binding of the sides, cherry top the headstock, shape it and drill it, glue the back onto the neck through at the body, glue the wings, shape them to final, round edges, contuor, and a lot of other things. the knobs are no in the final location. with the bridge not close to the end, it sorta looks like a guitar.

thanx. i though a straigh change from flamed maple to quilted cherry would not look good, so the bloodwood is there to smooth it out. both the map,le and the cherry are a little scuffed and so the figure is dulled, but when i get to the finish sanding, it should really show nicely. i plan to use tru oil because it helps figuring come out nicely
