Sir Paul solos?

According to the book "the love you make" by peter brown, who was with them and mentioned in the song the ballad of john and yoko, he says it was Paul. Just citing what I read.

First I've heard of Paul playing the drum solo on Abbey Road, and I've read "The Love You Make." In the book "The Beatles Gear," Andy Babiuk says the song "The End" "features Starr playing his first and last solo on a Beatles record." Babiuk goes on to quote Iron Butterfly drummer Ron Bushy as saying that in 1971, McCartney and Starr came to see an IB show and that Ringo told Ron he had "copped" his solo from In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" for "The End." There are similarities in the Abbey Road solo. Paul is a heck of a drummer, but I doubt he would steal Ringo's solo here.

"Ringo would never do drum solos. He hated drummers who did lengthy drum solos. We all did. And when he joined The Beatles we said, "Ah, what about drum solos then?", thinking he might say, "Yeah, I'll have a five-hour one in the middle of your set," and he said, "I hate 'em!" We said, "Great! We love you!" And so he would never do them. But because of this medley I said, "Well, a token solo?" and he really dug his heels in and didn't want to do it. But after a little bit of gentle persuasion I said, "Yeah, just do that, it wouldn't be Buddy Rich gone mad," because I think that's what he didn't want to do."

Now that's doin yer homework. :)

Heh thanks, it wasn't really that hard, it was the first thing that popped into my head being that I'd never heard any bass solo by him prior to hearing that song for the first time (or since). So it kind of sticks out in my memories!

No, I do not think there was any "bass solos" done by him at least nothing I could find.
I even checked out Wing's stuff and found nothing I would consider a bass solo.

Check post #15. It's not a long or a great solo, but it definitely is a solo.
