I'll be interested to hear how you like the M7. You've had a couple of V7 fivers. I like my M7 five as well as my V7 five, but the B string on the M7 is superior to the V7's IMO.
I can't really do a direct comparison because my M7 fretless 5 still has the stock flats on it, while I've got Ken Smith Compressors on my V7 fretless 5. No complaints about the Bs on either. :)

Finally got a chance to try my new Vintage V7. First impressions - holy crap this thing sounds nice! I was actually trying out passive mode for awhile and I was surprised how amazing passive mode sounded. It sounded to me like Fender Am. Standard Jazz in its control but at the same time it was snarky with its mids and highs. Honestly I have never played slap on a guitar and received such a nice sound out of it. Mind you, I rarely ever slap when trying things out at music stores because I'm not very good.
Then I turned it into active mode. Man, does this thing ever have good electronics. The range of tones I could get out of it was insane! It was also nice to get the mid freq. control back after I had to get rid of my Hagstrom Beluga II due to it continuously breaking down on me.
The neck feels amazing. I was thinking it was going to be a lot bigger, but it was perfect for me and the neck length was awesome too. I really enjoyed playing on it. All in all, amazing bass, I would recommend it to anyone.

These basses are really amazing!!

I just found this guy on Facebook. Considering getting one for my VV7 5. $220 shipped to NJ. He's in Turkey so I'm a bit wary on ordering.

I've been corresponding with a guy I found on ebay who does similar cut metal pickguards, I'll see if i can find him again. He's from Germany if that feels any safer.

Here's the seller's list: tolian_soran | eBay
similar, but different patterns, from the looks of it. The black backgrounds are separate, I'm planning on using mine without. He also does customs, just send a good accurate scan of the pg you want duplicated. :)

It's good to see the Sire vibe still going strong...
Been hoping that Sire would have a P style by now. Guess I'll have to scratch that itch elsewhere.
They're still ramping up, but yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath on the P, the microphone seems to be their next big step, and I'm guessing a guitar is coming soon as well.

Unless, of course, you wanted to get a V7 and slap a P in place of the neck PU. That would be quite interesting to hear. ;)

Hey, I'm planning on joining the club come Christmas (gonna buy me a sire hehe). Does anyone know if sire still makes basses from china? I was hoping to get one made in Indonesia.
They still make basses in China, but I think most of what they ship to the US has been coming from Indonesia lately - anyone seen any different? Not sure about the Phillipines, though, you can always ask?
