The bridge is different from the V7, different pickups, but I believe the spacing is the same. Also the fretboard radius is different and is listed incorrectly on the Sire website. The V7 is 7.25", the V3 is 9.5" ie. it's flatter.
My recently bought Sire V3 (manufactured this year) also came with it - it's in the box and there for you to install it if you choose to.
Most of them are out of stock at Sire itself. Can't churn them out fast enough. Some stores still have them in stock like CME on Reverb etc. Even then, they're selling out too on some models. The M2 blue with maple neck usually sells out fast once they get them in stock, also the Mahogany finish V3. Really wanted the blue M2 at first but they kept pushing the availability date so settled on a used M3 in that nice quilted red finish instead.
I'm gassing for another bass, but the Sire V3 I recently bought is better and cheaper than anything I'm currently looking at. I might actually just buy another Sire as a backup! I keep thinking that I should buy another because this price point and quality can't last.
I originally bought a Sire V3 and my next bass was another Sire, an M3. The preamp on the basses are hard to beat at any price point. Just to show I'm impartial, I bought a used Fender Jazz bass right after that M3. ha ha.. Now, the Sire PJ bass, the P7 is looking very nice these daysI'm gassing for another bass, but the Sire V3 I recently bought is better and cheaper than anything I'm currently looking at. I don't even use the preamp, I took the battery out... I'm totally sold on the instrument construction. The pickups are more than good enough. If there was a P3 I would buy it now, the P7 looks really enticing, but I wasn't stoked on the inlays. I prefer the V3 fretboard.

Well not all good in Sire world. The V7 I bought last week sound terrible on lower strings in active and passive mode. Unusable at band practice on Monday, sounded like a plank. Took it to my local music shop today to try with other amps. Still sounded awful. seems like a pickup problem. Is going back to the dealer am afraid. I feel Sooo disappointed

It might be a good idea to check for simple problems in the cavity before shipping back if you haven't already.

As a brand new bass I don't want to start taking it apart to check for issues inside the cavity in case this invalidates my guarantee. And if there is an issue unlikely I can fix it. If it was a second hand purchase I'd have it apart in seconds
I understand. Sometimes wires or plugs get shaken loose during shipping. Occasionally it is something very simple.

Try chainging the strings, just to be sure. Or at least unwind to make sure they didn't get twisted during install.

I purchased my new P7 at a shop , played great at the shop , had some adjustments made there and played it again still played great , got it home and the low B & E sounded like your plank sound. I found that the strings had come apart from the core at the tuning pegs , replaced the strings problem was gone.
