Just ordered mine this morning, alder/rw sunburst 5 How long did it take you to get the confirmation e-mail ?

I ordered my bass on September 15, and go the confirmation E-Mail on November 10 saying that my order is, "Complete," which basically just means that they have it in the warehouse. Mine is an Ash/Maple Sunburst 5 though, and might take a bit longer than the alder/rw counterpart. Mine was also Supposed to be part of the second shipment expedited for October 2, so they might be more caught up at this point.

V7 owners, how do your basses sound compared this bass that I really love to play? This bass is a very strong contender as my next Jazz.

I have a lot love for the DJ 5. I probably would've gotten one if not for the V7.

Wow, you didn't receive a confirmation e-mail for that long/ I just assumed I would get one as soon as I placed the order. I just called them and got no response, maybe they are closed for Veterans Day. Jim

The times I called I left a voicemail and was called back.
I don't think you'll get a confirmation email until your bass is received at the warehouse, your Sire account will say processing until then IIRC.

You should get an email by end of business day. Check your spam folder.
I got two emails, one was for my account w sire and the other was the sales order.
Call Micky if you dont get anything. Check your bank to make sure the charge went through.

I don't think you'll get a confirmation email until your bass is received at the warehouse, your Sire account will say processing until then IIRC.

I placed my order 2 weeks ago and got an email within an hour confirming my order which as of today still shows in the processing stage. When I placed the order they showed an estimated ship date of last Monday hopefully won't be much longer.

Yeah, this sounds correct.

I went through Thomann. Two basses ordered, both showed up on my doorstep in less than two weeks.

I ordered directly through Sire. I did send E-Mails periodically in order to check up on the status of my bass, in which Mickey was very helpful. I did receive an E-Mail around 10 minutes after I ordered the bass confirming that it was bought, and it had my receipt.

Other than that E-Mail, I didn't get any confirmation from Sire, (Except for the times I E-Mailed Mickey), until I received the E-Mail yesterday saying that the order was complete.

How are the batteries installed, are those 2 black covers on the back a rubber gasket that pushes in to close or are they covers that have screws, hard to tell from the pictures.

They have hinges and finger-release hold-closed clips.

I got an e-mail from Mickey a couple of hours ago, maybe not delivered until after Thanksgiving . That's cool since it's a Christmas present to myself. These guys are swamped, isn't it cool Sire actually has somebody you can talk to!! Jim

Yeah, Mickey has been great. He has E-Mailed me at least 3 times, and even called me to explain what was going on before.

my natural ash 5 is 2 piece which i love. I really like the grains on the natural finish and wish they offered rosewood with natural.

Hi! I'm thinking of buying a Sire v7 Ash 5stg Nat next month. The only thing is that I don't specially like the pickguard that comes with it and I would like to get a black pickguard for the bass, because I really like natural finished JB with the black pickguard. Thommann has a black fender pickguard for a 5 stg JB available. Does anyone knows if it will fit the Sire v7?

If I were you I would just take the pickguard off and send it to one of the after market pg makers and have one made, that way you'll know that it fits perfectly. Jim

Online...WD products makes custom pickguards. Just make a template from the OEM on a piece of paper.

What type of music is the M3 best suited for? Would it be compared to a P Bass?

Yeah, not a lot of love for the M3 here, there's a YouTube video I think I posted somewhere on this thread that the guy does a pretty good demo of. Seems extremely versatile.
