Any specific strings in mind? Or strictly going with the rounds it came with?

I use the EB Kobalt flats, fit the 35" scale great (not thru body tho) and sound really good.

I would have gotten the Thomastik Infeld SuperAlloy strings, but they are thin on the ground. Ended up with NYXL instead.

Doing a setup on a fretless is always an interesting change of pace.

Ironically, the fingerboard does matter - probably not at much as with an upright, but I luckily have never had an issue.

They are not string through on mine, and I think it may be iffy in that regard.

Hi. I just bought a Sire v8 and it sounds good, i didn't notice any problems until i opened the control cavity just to see what's going on there, and i found a loose wire. Since it's a different preamp than my V7 has, can't copy it and fix it straight away. Could you help me? Where the loosen white cable should be attached? I have some pictures as well

Am I the only one who thinks Sire's paint finishes are a bit too thick and glossy?

I'd like to see some thinner satin type finishes too, maybe similar to the M2's?

I'm guessing it is supposed to be soldered to the empty lug on the pot right next to it (looks like a blend pot the way it's looks to be wired), the one with the cold solder on it. That being said, I'm not real impressed with the soldering "skills" of the person that soldered those solder joints...cold solder joints and burnt insulation. I have three Sires and never looked at the soldering work in the control cavities...perhaps I don't want to but after seeing this, I probably should. If it looked like that, I would tear it down and rewire/resolder all of it. It's a failure just waiting to happen (or has happened).

If this person's solder skills are not good either he could make a bigger mess of things. I agree if it were me I would do them all but I suggest he get someone skilled or return it

Another thing which bothers me is that the pickup blend and the mid sweep knob center detent is kinda missing, hard to find and feel it. Is ther anything what i can do or should I replace them?

That's pretty much my favorite contour setting on the Magellan. Maybe a few dB up in bass on the amp.

and that is over the air into my iPhone, with a zoom microphone inserted, not thru an interface.
