Sire V7 - are they really THAT good?

I have two V7s a fretted and a fret less I stumbled on at my local shop. At the time of purchase there was a MIA fender jazz next to the fretless, the Sire came home with me. As for hardware, knobs are knobs and plates are plates. They are shiny and look pretty and turn on command. I might be happier still with different tuners, but the stock tuners work well and there is no reason to change. Same for the bridge, beefy and shiny. The MIA fenders that I have fondled at GC and other shops don't feel or sound near as good as the Sires I have. FWIW I sold off my Squires but I'm keeping the Sires. Try one and let us know where you stand in the great debate. Rock on.

I've got an incredible exercise book that will clear all of the hand fatigue problems!! And the best part is...you don't even need your BASS!! You can do them anywhere! I'm currently playing with a broken left ring finger and I have no problems at all!!! Send me your email in a PM and I'll forward it to you...even if you've already sold the 5! :-)

No way. I have both MIA Fender and V7. I made a blind tests to my band mates as a result: everyone choose Fender. Also I prefer fender MIA too.

Craftsmanship is by far bad than Fender MIA, my V7's inlays were fall downed(inlays are ugly now), frets were re-leveled after one year( and leveling is not cheap), in addition tuners and bridge are cheap. Hype hype and hype...

Maybe you got a lemon......with the amount of basses Sire is putting out not everyone is going to be perfect. I've had my v7 for over 2 years now with stainless steel strings on it gigging and rehearsing with it weekly and have had no fret issues or hardware issues of any kind. I've got a story similar to yours only the other direction.....we have about 9 bass players at my church and one has a newer Fender jazz deluxe 5 string. We all got together and played both the Fender and the Sire and the Sire was the hands down winner. We now have about 7 Sires between us all. We could go in circles with this stuff but I think the fact that Sire can barely keep their basses in stock and the amount of pro level musicians using them is a testament as to how good they really are. But rock whatever floats your boat....just keep thumpin! :bassist:

How you like the vintage compared to the regular one? Is there a noticeable difference?

I can verify that it's inches not feet. :D Though I'll once again comment that the way the neck sits into the body, you don't really feel the longer scale much.
