My answer to this question is that I don't hear a difference in magnet materials...I only notice a difference in voicing choices as part of design intent.

To me a "material used to generate magnetic flux density" focus is a little like comparing two different design automobile tires when one filled with nitrogen and the other compressed air and assuming "N2 versus air" is what makes all the difference between how the tires ride, handle, etc.

I lived through the days of bass cabinets way past 100 pounds, I once had a 215 Yamaha cab that weighed 165 pounds. I HEFTED that thing up and down stairs, it did not PUNCH above its weight, and I got tired of SLAMMING it in the back of the van. Of course, it was lighter than my folded 18 . . .

Lighter cabinets? You betcha.
