Small(ish) cab to pair with an SVT

two fingers

Opinionated blowhard. But not mad about it.

OK, so I'm a sucker, I guess.

I run in-ear monitors with my band. But last night I ran my SVT for the first time in a while at rehearsal. And, of course, there's "that sound". You know, that sound everybody tries to emulate with pedals and preamps? Yeah, there it is. It was even there in my earbuds.

I've got a late SLM era SVT and a 610AV (same as the HLF with a silver grill). I'm going to start taking the SVT out again. I just can't get that sound anywhere else. But I don't need a 610 with me if I'm running IEMs.

I need something that looks good with the SVT. It has to be wider than the head. I can't do the thing where the head hangs off the sides. Honestly, I don't need a ton of volume. But if it performs, that's great too. But a 115 or something like that should get me done.
What's out there? I need to put a ridiculously heavy head on top of a no-so-heavy/large cab with a black grill (or something else that will look good with the SVT).

I forgot to mention, the head is a standard CL with the black grill. In fact, the black matching grill I ordered from Fliptops for the 610 should be arriving any minute now. So I would like to stick with black options.
I bought one of the 212’s for my SVT and then ordered the black grill to replace the silver one it came with. It sounds great! I actually like the sound better then both of my 810’s. Little more clarity. Plus it is a light cab.

Ah, you did mention the black grill for the cab in your OP. I think Ampeg used to offer the option of black grill cloth with the 212AV. Don't know if that's still the case though.
