When i was in your situation, I picked up this used SVT-18e. I wasn't impressed with the 18" speaker and ended up installing a 15" Basslite C2515 with an adapter ring instead. Specifications show this 4-ohm speaker is designed for a cab of this dimension, plus it's made to run sealed or ported.

It been an awesome cab, I've gigged the hell out of it for 8 years now. It has a similar sound and feel as my flatback 810 and Berg NV610.

This cab is the same width as my blueline SVT. When flipped on its side it's wider than my 72 V4 head. I've ended up preferring the 2 outer shelf-ports sealed off by plugging with tightly rolled up black cloth.

If you run across a used 18e, you'll find more info here: Help, I think I wanna instal a 4-ohm/15" speaker in my SVT-18e cab, am I crazy?
