Small spray booth

I don't know what they sell for, but these are claimed to be a more efficient version of a venturi. They opeate on compressed air, and have no moving parts. I suppose they could be for either supply or draw-off.

Well, I tried my version of forcing the air in the side and exhausting out the bottom and it was a complete dissaster. Allthough it got rid of the overspray very well it made a better wind tunnel than a spray booth. This weekend I will try pulling the air out and see if I can blow up my shop vac.

I did the burst on ol' "Tone Bastard" today in the booth. I sucked the air out the top with my shop vac. After spraying I lowered a plastic flap over the opening and when all the overspray was evacuated I turned off the vac and left to dry. Not perfect but it sure is easier on my lungs and shop. Also keeps the dust off while drying.

Aww heck! Never thought of the sideways mounting for painting a bass.... now that I see how you did yours, I'm most certainly interested in doing that kind of a mount.

I leave the flap open while I spray. It only takes about 30 seconds to lay on a coat of finish. I turn the bass with the handle sticking thru the side. Then I close the flap and attach with velcro at the sides.

I've got a recommendation... dunno why I didn't think of this before...

Go buy some plexiglass, hinge it at the top, so that you can keep an eye on it as it dries to watch for runs or mistakes? Just flip it up onto the top of the box, then flip it down when you're done?

Dust rain comes to mind...

I remember seein some rickenbacker paint shop pictures they were either not using any spraybooth or inside ahuge spraywood that looked like a shop...
