The Ampeg SVT210AV is the best sounding small 2x10 I have played. It destroys the Hartke Transporter(which I also own). I have had it on many gigs now and its always come through. Super light weight too.

That's cool. I was just wondering if anyone had done it. I think maybe buying an amp with lower wattage will quell my concerns. I know the cab will get me loud enough in this setting. I just don't want to overpower it using a high wattage amp. Maybe a GKMB200.It's never a good idea to try and make something into something it's not. In order to do what you suggest you would have to model the cabinet in a box design program to identify drivers that will work well. That's not a simple task.
What are these going for? It may be cheaper for me to buy a lower wattage amp.Acme B2

Just an idea......
The Epifani UL110 gets very loud for its size and weight. Two of them would give a big sound and volume, especially taking advantage of the Markbass power at 4ohms. You can find the Epi UL110's used. You'd get much more out of two of the Epi's than the Markbass Traveler 102, at about the same size.
Yep, port location makes zero difference. You can put the port anywhere and it will behave exactly the same way as long as everything else about the cab is the same.Or...If you could find a Bergantino AE210, you'd be in happy land. Not cheap but the best "small" 2x10 out there. Its rear ported, but that really makes little to no difference at all.
I dont know if it meets your size requirements but a fEARful 12/6 is 16.5"x15.25"x24" weighs about 40 pounds, and will stomp all over any 210 on the market as far as volume and power handling.
...and the talkbass version of Goodwin's law strikes again.
Orange's isoberic cabs have a 2 -10" with one speaker behind the first one, so the footprint is very similar in size to a 1 - 10" cab, maybe a bit deeper and I think they handle 600 watts.

+1. My latest GAS cab is the Orange sp212.![]()
