Smallest 2x10 cab??

It's never a good idea to try and make something into something it's not. In order to do what you suggest you would have to model the cabinet in a box design program to identify drivers that will work well. That's not a simple task.
That's cool. I was just wondering if anyone had done it. I think maybe buying an amp with lower wattage will quell my concerns. I know the cab will get me loud enough in this setting. I just don't want to overpower it using a high wattage amp. Maybe a GKMB200.

i have two hartke transporter 2x10 cabs and i put eminence 2510's in both of them. IMO, they sound very good for a lightweight and super small 2x10, and are much lighter than the stock 75W drivers. they don't have a ton of low end but are very punchy, can get super loud and their thermal rating is now 500 watts each. i also added an eminence tweeter and crossover with a true bypass for the tweeters.

Just an idea......
The Epifani UL110 gets very loud for its size and weight. Two of them would give a big sound and volume, especially taking advantage of the Markbass power at 4ohms. You can find the Epi UL110's used. You'd get much more out of two of the Epi's than the Markbass Traveler 102, at about the same size.

The problem with the Acme boxes is you need much more power than the Markbass head has, even at 4ohms. Those Acme's are great, they just don't do anything till you push them.

Just my opinion.

Excellent suggestion! The UL110 is my favorite Epi cab. I owned two of them and they were comparable to a UL210 in an A/B test, IMO, but more portable and flexible. And a single UL110 is really great at home and at small venues.

Or...If you could find a Bergantino AE210, you'd be in happy land. Not cheap but the best "small" 2x10 out there. Its rear ported, but that really makes little to no difference at all.
Yep, port location makes zero difference. You can put the port anywhere and it will behave exactly the same way as long as everything else about the cab is the same.

I dont know if it meets your size requirements but a fEARful 12/6 is 16.5"x15.25"x24" weighs about 40 pounds, and will stomp all over any 210 on the market as far as volume and power handling.

...and the talkbass version of Goodwin's law strikes again.

FWIW I think Schroeder makes the smallest 2x10 (or will make). I've seen his 1212L with one side of the baffle folded in to make the whole cabinet about a third narrower (or shorter). He doesn't show any on his site but you can look at the 1210L on Invalid Link Removed to get n idea.

Since mine was the 5th post your analogy fits like a square peg in a round hole.

That said, the OP was asking for a small for cab with power handling and volume, and is for that in a package that doesnt break the bank. A DIY fEARful meets his first three requirements in droves. IMHO I feel that he would get a lot of bang for his buck with this set up as well.

I do not find your comment positive or pertinent to the discussion at hand. From what I have seen in other threads and here, please take your personal vendetta elsewhere.
