Smoking pot while being in a band

Potheads who try to defend their addiction

REEFER MADNESS

I've had my share of pot so i can digg the comments of pro and con. Seems that the weed of nowadays is something much more powerful than say 10 or 15 years ago. I tried one of his joints a while ago and I was off the planet - not in a relax high manner, but very confused and awkward. This stuff is heavy. I would die smoking this every day, and I do regular sports, eat healthy and whatnot. I could smoke daily before because the stuff would just get you high, but the stuff he smokes is like a trip. It's like it's so strong it controls you rather that let you get high.

You know, it is possible to control your intake.

When I do smoke weed now, I take one puff and wait to see where that takes me.

This.

Anyone not doing when trying something new is foolish.

I just went thru a drug training class for work and seen the long term effects of pot on the brain from nuclear brain scans...not pretty at all.

I find these sort of studies fascinating. Can you provide a source, or even better, a link to this study?

Make it about the band, not the weed. "We haven't been able to count on you to attend practices and learn the music. Sorry, but we need someone more reliable and committed."

That is at it should be. What people are doing on their own is of no import to the band - IF - they can hold up their end of the music with style and creativity and not interfere with other people's ideas in a repeatedly negative way. If not, don't blame the weed, the girlfriend, the beer, the dog, the economy - its the person themselves not choosing to live up to the gig.

...but hash is made from cannabis. If the ingredients go up in THC, it's going to affect both.

I think you're just getting crappy hash.

No, the hash is great! Consistent - the same now as it was 25 years ago. Tastes great, smells great, just the right kick. It's still being made with the old strains of weed I suppose. I have had hash made with the new bud - it's too intense for a wuss like me.

That's how it was around here 20+ years ago, when weed was ~3% and hash was double or triple that, but the numbers I'm hearing for the BC bud are in the 20%+ range. Of course, that's all hearsay - I have nothing to back it up.

From what Ive heard via various documentaries puts it closer to 13-15%, but thats also through a second hand source.

If you think that's scary, just wait till you see the scans showing what time does to your body - not a pretty sight. :(

LOL

Enough about "old weed" and "new weed"

What you are calling "old weed" was probably grown outdoors without much care by some hippie jerk. The "new" stuff is grown indoors with CRAZY attention to detail. It's not some magic new kind of pot. You know how tomatoes grow larger when properly watered and fertilized?

No no man! The stuff me and my friends smoked for years was bought legally in Holland and was grown with care in a professional environment. Back then Northerlight or White Widow was excellent and they still are, but there's new stuff, new names, and with a distinctly heavier effect.

To each his own If you can't hang, then don't. Pretty simple. Goes for both sides too. People places things. Don't be around it if you don't like it.

BUT.....the whole " 20 years ago " thing or the " weed is so much stronger now " thing is sooooooooo wrong it's funny.
The most potant weed today comes from hybrids that are then imbred to get back to the original plants that the seed originally came from. The best pot is STILL real Afgani and REAL gold Thai and Central and south American Sativas but you just don't see them very often because they're so hard to get now. And the dpmestic pot is EVERYEHERE. The growers can't get rid of it. I know of which I speak.
20 years ago the weed was the same as it is now, only maybe better. Just like with all hybrids, they're destroyng the beautiful original strains. Like how if you want good tomato now you pretty much have to grow heirlooms. Skunk #1 was develpoed in the late 70s and that kicked the crap out of most strains you see today. And it was 15 %. Oh yes it was . Check it.
The hippies I know who were around in the 60s think the so called Kind Bud today is a joke.
Also, for you THC experts ( how would you know the % do you do test it ? ) it's not just about THC %. There are several canabanoids that interact to get you "high". You know like some is creeper and some hits you over the head, some last for 20 minutes some lasts an hour or more.

And about getting interplanetary from one hit, that's just from not smoking. That happens to everyone. I smoke more than anyone I know but when I stop for a month I get interplanetary from 1 hit too. That's just tolerance.

The new stuff with new names is really just different strains of the same old stuff. A lot of it is hybrid stuff, blending the Indicas and Sativas. Nothern Lights and White Widow are good strains, but no less heavy than a lot of the current strains available.
