sneak peek @ $100,000 Ritter Roya......

There's nothing wrong with criticism, but that doesn't give people the right to be immature and bash the bass and/or the builder. If you don't like it, cool. Feel free to tell us why, but at least be able to respect Jens and what he is doing. He is an artist (all luthiers are, imo), and has every right to do what he wants and charge what he wants. If you think he's charging way to much, then so what. Don't buy it. Simple as that.

Apparently Jens is selling more basses than he can make, so he must be doing something right ;)

If you follow the url path of the pictures of the Earcandy cabs, you'll see it leads to the same free directory that hosts the pics of the FBB four-string that Name Changed, a 15-year-old, won in an eBay auction a while ago.

He just changed his profile too. Yesterday when I looked it said he just had an MIA Fender bass :p

Tough luck, because you are incorrect.
If you are talking about the pics of my prettier cabs in a thread a while back then I know what you are talking about. That behringer head is mine and yes it is crap and no it is not my only head by a long shot. Just because something is in a pic does not mean that you should come to a conclusion.

Secondly, I believe in that picture that by the corner of the photo you can clearly see that 1780 French table. Guess what material is all over that? The same thing on the my soon to arrive bass. Guess how much I could sell that table for right now? Well over the $100,000 for the bass. So if you want to come to conclusions based on those pics then I suggest you look at the other "artifacts" in that room.

I wired the money to his account last night at approximately 7:45 eastern. In about 5 days he said he will arrive to my local airport and I will go pick him and my bass up. Then there will be a thread of pics. Just be patient.

Uh huh. Okay.

Artifacts....yes, well. They do look somewhat lovely. Though I don't know nearly enough about that kind of stuff to put a price on anything.

Oh, I see. You sold your 4 PS3s on ebay to fund this?

Well, your ebay feedback certainly clears things up then. What a great guy you are :smug:

Not to mention his feedback shows that he has no items for sale. Not to mention that there is no seller with four PS3s on eBay that are each around $2100.

Geez kid, if you're going to be a liar, at least don't be a stupid liar.

180+ I dont know if you are for real or a fraud (and dont care for that matter). But I do know that the bass is STILL listed as available. When I expressed strong interest in buying my silver Raptor Jens marked it as sold on his website the same day. Even before any money exchanged hands. :hmm:

But to your defense it also says this:
6. Theoretically it could happen that an instrument is already sold, but not marked on the website as sold at the point of Your purchase.
This is because this website is operated manually. This website will be updated every few hours.

Maybe he hasnt updated it yet..but then again more than a few hours have gone by since 7:45am

I seriously dont get what's up with the mammoth ivory..... hmmm next thing you know ritter would be marketing guitar straps made of leather from jesus's sandals? and pickups with threads wound from the table cloth at the last supper....

Is actually a lot more common than you think - it is used in the piano industry for ivory keycaps, in place of actually killing an elephant for the stuff. It apparently gets dug up quite frequently, and as small a piece as you would need for the nut would not add a lot to the price of the instrument.

Certainly cheaper than the black diamonds inlaid in the fingerboard.

Cheers,
Cameron

Let me close by saying this:

.....This bass will be featured in The Robb Report. One the most prestigous magazines on any news stand...

No offence. but the Robb Report is an example of tacky excess. So much of the stuff featured appeals to folks with more money than taste.

But Im thrilled that a Bass-maker is being recognized. That's really kind of cool.

I know it's unlikely but we'll be kicking ourselves in the asses if this kids telling the truth.

I think It'd be hilarious!

Also, I believe he's full of BS. Not many people exactly have 100,000 just lying in their bank account, waiting for something to arise.

Guys I just wanted to let 180 know that I am now a billionaire and I am having jens build me a royal bass, also custom strings which are made out of black diamonds and solid platinum pots, and copper wire? heh, try 24 karat GOLD wire in the pickups

im going to jump into my time machine and pick it up in my spaceship tomorrow

180+ second post on this thread says he's the visionary behind this bass and it was his since 3 weeks ago. Now he just paid it and is waiting to be delivered

Yesterday's GAS list on his profile included "full-custom made Stambaugh or CB bass" he now changed that to "nothing". If he can't afford CB and Stambaugh, no way in hell he can afford Ritter.
