The only 24 hour delay I ever had occurred there. I'm sorry you have to deal with O'Hare. It's not fun or funny. And that damn music they play in those tunnels makes me want to strangle myself! If Purgatory has a soundtrack, that's it.

I notice you had to keep the camera pointed up so it would not show the snow under the palm trees - we're on to your Hollywood film tricks here. The drifts are probably halfway up that light pole.

Got to admit the lighting would be good for gettin' it onWe were in O'Hare about 10 years ago and somebody was running the audio from a porno through the PA for about 10 minutes. It was one of the funniest things ever.
Worse yet - it is actually RAINING in Los Angeles today, so my stock photo is not only deceptive but a straight-up LIE. Don't know why I felt compelled to lie -- guess it's just an L.A. thing.

..But it pours, man it pours; and then the mudslides begin, but for some reason they are not in the song. How does that song go? "It never rains in Southern California..."

Oh man, all this talk about winter and whining reminds me of this radio caller we had in Saskatchewan a month or two ago. It is hilarious. We sampled the audio and are trying to integrate it into one of our songs, take a listen, feel his pain.
Edit: NSFW ...strong language
Saskatchewan winter too much for one CBC Radio listener - Saskatchewan - CBC News
I grew up in Regina , know your pain , someone also said what if people in cold climes got hit with 110 f? in Saskatchewan they do in the summer , and a lot if not , the majority, of houses do not have AC. I remember when I was growing up , there were times it was 85-90 at midnight in the house , we live through it.
Pilsner air conditioning and plenty of it when the mercury hits above 90 lol , Saskatchewan members know what im talkin bout

Hints to do with all that snow:
If you're an instrument collector, not only basses, you can get your bucket out and collect that abundance of snow, and take it indoors and fill your humidifiers with it! And start to humidify your rooms. This melted snow doesn't consist of any residue of lime, chalk or whatever. Don't forget that as fast it is below freezing point, the air becomes very dry. Using tap water causes a thin veil or coat of lime on your walls, and instruments.
Provided that you actually use and own a humidifier. But that snow (melted) is considerably better than any tap water. You can even save it for later on. Don't wait until the snow has become dirty from the surroundings, that's bad. Get it now! Fresh and newly fallen!

Those pics reminds me, they could've just as well been taken in my backyard. However, as we hit the month of March now, it all has gone to above zero point and is melting rapidly. Next week we'll have 12-15 + centidegrees, they say. It's that North Atlantic Oscillation that has done its negative phase for you guys. We have the positive phase in Europe so that "bay" of warm winds are coming our way. However, not much sun in there, just grey all of the time.
If you have that much snow, that everything is covered in newly fallen snow, and you have a home studio, make use of the situation and start to record. There's NO better sound insulation than snow. You'll lower the signal to noise ratio by several decibels... until your neighbor ruining your take with that snow blower ...![]()
