Snowed in... in Texas

I like the way you think Honch.

@tmdazed :: Yeah, I grew up without airconditioning, too, and when a friend's parents installed it at his house, I asked "Why?"
I think Alberta and Manitoba are the same as SK, heLL the majority of Canada, not a lot of houses will have aircon. I could be wrong, it's not like I've taken a census.
My parents still don't have aircon, same house I grew up in.
lol true , a lot still dont, I do have ac in the house and in the studio these days , but just window units , one in the bedroom and the other in the studio (nothing worse than a bunch of sweaty smelly musicians) the rest of the house no AC

PS: Doll, I like how you always refer to Saskatchewan, like it's a small specific place of its own and not a province of 651,900 km² (251,700 sq miles), nearly 3 times the size of "Great" Britian (229,848 km²/88,745 sq miles). So where in SK are you? I was born in Kindersley, before moving to Saskatoon and points beyond SK's borders.

I'm on the move a lot so I tend to generalize. I've spent the last 5 years between Regina and Yorkton, my band is based in Regina. Currently. I live in Sturgis and work in Preeceville. I will be moving again in July, either Regina, Saskatoon or Yorkton I think.

We have not had much snow in the middle Atlantic region but its been so cold that the little we get stays around. Had an ice storm last night but didn't lose power.

Hi,

This was Huntington Beach today. Weird.

Beach bummer: Hailstorm whitens Southern California

There was no snow or hail where I live, a bit inland, but it's been chilly and rainy. It's almost like winter around here. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I've seen snow on the beach on Cape Cod and even in Maryland, but never Southern California. Seen it from the beach, but never on it.

I'm in Fort Worth. Friday we had almost 5". Left the office at 10:30 AM, got home at 2:30 PM. It is normally 35 - 40 minutes.
About 6 years ago, we had 11 inches.
We certainly don't get it like they do in other parts, but we also don't have the equipment to deal with it properly. Were I in Montana or Oregon, I would have chains in the truck and likely 200 lbs. of stuff to put in the back of the bed, but not here.

And we're at 52 right now.. 39 tomorrow (Wed) then down to 23 overnight with 100% chance on freezing precipitation/sleet/snow.
Thurs am will have all the schools closed again.. thankfully I can work from home as my company has no inclement weather policy.

And yet people have the nerve to whine about global warming! Where is it now? When we (you) need it! ;)
It's not global warming .. it's climate change.. and the [more] frequent extremes of weather we are seeing world wide. 2014 was the hottest year on record (been recording for 180 yrs IIRC).. When was the last time MA saw 10 feet of snow in a month??

I can think of that as you live on the plains, snowstorm can be a bit of a ... chore ... [I wanted to write h*ll] as it piles up to no end, but I find it kind of freaky that it really snows in Texas. It's not even high above water or mountains there, and not only in the north parts, but even downwards to the middle of Texas. A friend of mine is going to Austin at the end of this month (from Sweden) and he does it regularly just to skip Scandinavian winters... ha ha ha...will rub it in on him while he's there. Banter and rile him up...;)
